SPLC Action Fund Responds to 2024 Election Results

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Today, Donald J. Trump secured enough electoral college votes to become the 47th President of the United States. 

 “The 2024 election results show that the fight for racial justice and equity is necessary and urgent,” said Margaret Huang, president and CEO of the SPLC Action Fund. 

“We have been in the struggle against hate and discrimination for decades. Generations of freedom fighters have risked so much to face down white supremacy and secure dignity and human rights for all. Now, it's time to take action — beyond the voting booth — to protect our democracy and our future,” Huang continued.  

“Today and every day, the SPLC Action Fund remains steadfast in our mission to be a catalyst for racial justice in the Deep South and beyond. Together, we will build a multiracial, inclusive democracy that provides dignity and respect for all people,” Huang concluded.
