SPLC Action Fund Endorses Marvin Tapia for District 1 Commissioner in Miami-Dade County

MIAMI – The SPLC Action Fund today endorsed Marvin Tapia for commissioner in the upcoming Miami-Dade County Municipal Election. Mr. Tapia is a long-time local advocate and chairman of the Miami-Dade County’s Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board.

“Local elected officials have a tremendous impact on the everyday lives of citizens in their community,” said Madison Hollon, program manager of political campaigns for the SPLC Action Fund. “It is essential that those who sit in these positions are truly devoted to serving the community. Mr. Tapia has demonstrated his commitment to these principles including addressing the affordability crisis happening in Miami.”

Tapia has pledged to focus on improving access to affordable housing and supporting local efforts to drive the cost of living down.
