SPLC Action Fund Congratulates Newly Elected Officials in Georgia

ATLANTA — Today, the SPLC Action Fund congratulates five endorsed candidates on their election in county races statewide. These leaders are ready to advocate for policies that will work in the best interests of all Georgians.

“Georgia played a decisive role in another historic election by selecting candidates who are committed to democracy,” said Madison Hollon, program manager of political campaigns for the SPLC Action Fund. “We are eager to see them lead in ways that benefit the communities they serve.”

Voters chose the following candidates to represent them in local offices statewide:

• Lisa Cupid, Cobb County Commission Chair.
• Kimberly Griggs, Newton County Coroner.
• Denise Mitchell, Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner.
• Craig Owens, Cobb County Sheriff.
• Reginald Scandrett, Henry County Sheriff.
