SPLC Action Fund Congratulates Newly Elected Court Officials in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Today, the SPLC Action Fund congratulates endorsed candidates for county district court judge and circuit clerk in Alabama.

“Chuantae Brown and Karen Dunn Burks are true defenders of democracy and advocates for justice who will protect the rights of Black and Brown Alabamians,” said Madison Hollon, program manager of political campaigns, SPLC Action Fund. “We celebrate their victories and their commitment to public service.”

Voters chose the following candidates to represent them in county offices:

• Chuantae Brown was elected District Court Judge, Place 1 for Jefferson County
• Karen Dunn Burks was elected Circuit Clerk for Jefferson County-Bessemer Division
